About the Role
As the Senior Design Officer you will be responsible for providing engineering designs and documentation for construction and civil infrastructure projects outlined in MCCs Capital Works Program. Drawing on your technical expertise you will provide advice to Council's internal and external customers on projects and liaise with stakeholders during the initiation and investigation of complex design matters. You will assess the feasibility of significant infrastructure development and provide innovative solutions during the design phase to help drive successful project outcomes
About You
You will possess tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or Design, or demonstrated experience in a civil infrastructure design environment at a senior level. Your contemporary industry knowledge and experience will mean you are an expert in the following:
* Design for roads, drainage, public spaces, cycle ways and recreation facilities
* Applying appropriate standards to design solutions
* Use of tools and technology to aid in investigation and engineering of design solutions
* Real world application of design solutions using appropriate civil construction procedures.
Quantity calculations and estimating
Demonstrated experience in project management and an ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders will enhance your ability to develop strong relationships with clients and is favourable. Your ability to manage conflicting demands and execute projects within appropriate timeframes and on budget, and experience using Civil3d, Stringer, Benchmark and MS Project as tools will make you an asset to our team.
Benefits
This is a permanent full-time role working 35 hours per week with a 3.5% civil liability allowance and 12% p.a. superannuation.
