James Cook University (JCU) is seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer in Nursing and Midwifery to join our dedicated academic team in Mackay. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to teaching, research, and clinical education in a university committed to improving health outcomes in tropical, rural, and remote communities.
What you'll do
* Teach and coordinate undergraduate and postgraduate subjects in nursing and / or midwifery.
* Design engaging learning activities and assessments using flexible, blended, and online approaches.
* Contribute to research and scholarship in nursing and midwifery.
* Provide clinical supervision and support for students as required.
* Engage with professional, community, and academic networks to advance JCU's mission.
What we're looking for
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse or Midwife (or both) with AHPRA.
* A Master's or PhD in a relevant discipline (or significant progress towards completion).
* Experience in learning, teaching, and curriculum development in tertiary education.
* Knowledge of flexible and online teaching approaches.
* Evidence of research and publication activity appropriate to career stage.
* Ability to address issues unique to tropical, regional, remote, and Indigenous health contexts.
Desirable
* Endorsement or credentialling in a nursing or midwifery specialisation (e.g., mental health, diabetes educator, endorsed midwife, nurse practitioner).
