Due to an internal promotion as a result of a new Hyatt property opening, we have an opportunity for a Chief Accountant to be part of a collaborative team that supports hotel operations. The Role
This role is responsible for the accurate and timely financial accounting of the hotel in accordance with policies, local statutory requirements, and owner reporting standards. The role ensures the integrity of financial records, supports month-end and year-end closing, and supervises core accounting functions. In addition, the role includes:
1. Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate posting to the General Ledger
2. Maintain balance sheet integrity through regular account reconciliations
3. Support statutory audits, internal audits, and owner reviews
4. Supervise the Accounts team and partner with operational departments to ensure accurate cost allocation and financial reporting
5. Assist the Director of Finance with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, capex tracking and fixed asset accounting
The Person
6. Ability to produce quality work and achieve results
7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
8. Ability to promote teamwork and collaboration
9. Shows initiative and resourcefulness; and acts with integrity
Qualifications And Experience
10. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
11. Professional accounting qualification (CPA / CA or equivalent) preferred
12. Minimum 3–5 years' hotel finance experience, including supervisory responsibility
13. Strong knowledge of hotel accounting systems and excel
