Description
The role of the School Nurse is to provide first aid and health care at St Paul’s School. Key responsibilities include providing health care for ill or injured students, maintaining student records and using clinical knowledge and judgement when providing care.
This is a role for a Registered Nurse seeking to contribute to the health and wellbeing of young people in a school setting.
Hours of work
- This is a permanent full-time position during term time plus 8 additional days.
- Work hours are typically 08:00–16:00, Monday to Friday, with critical hours during school time.
- Availability to support students at school camps or during extracurricular activities may be required outside normal hours.
Skills and experience
- Registered Nurse registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Defibrillation Certificate.
- Knowledge of legislation relevant to school nursing and adolescent healthcare.
- Ability to manage day-to-day workflow in an efficient and flexible way, allowing for unscheduled interruptions.
- Interpersonal skills to liaise with students, staff and parents.
- Ability to remain calm and effectively manage a diverse range of student needs.
- Competent in the use of computers, Microsoft Office, and able to quickly learn new systems.

- Agree to undergo a Criminal History/Police Check conducted by the School.
- Agree to be checked against the Anglican Church’s National Professional Standards Register.
- Be an Australian resident and eligible to work in Australia.
