About the Role
It's an exciting time for Wollondilly with major growth centre subdivisions being delivered in full flight. To support this growth the newly created Transport Planner will provide strategic direction about Wollondilly’s transport needs, including:
10. Analysing the Shire's transport needs in line with forecasted growth
11. Implementing, reviewing, researching and developing policies and strategies relating to transport
12. Advocating on behalf of Council on strategic transport issues
13. Providing strategic transport planning advice on network development, major developments and government strategies in line with Council’s adopted strategies and policies
14. Representing Council at transport forums.
The successful candidate must demonstrate their competency for the position by meeting the following essential criteria:
15. Tertiary qualifications in transport, civil engineering, planning or related field, with a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience.
16. Demonstrated significant experience in strategic transport planning.
17. Demonstrated ability to formulate and implement strategies, supporting policies and procedures and systems related to transport planning.
18. Demonstrated ability to take issues from inception, defining problem, options and agreed scope.
19. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation.
20. Class C drivers licence.
