In this role, you'll craft clear, compelling stories that connect audiences to our mission, showcase our environmental initiatives, and position us as a trusted voice in the sustainability space.
You'll be responsible for transforming complex or technical subject matter into accessible, engaging narratives across channels —from social media and web to thought leadership and media. Collaborating with internal teams and external partners, you'll shape how we communicate our impact—and why it matters.
This is a part-time opportunity (3 to 4 days per week) offered initially as a 6-month contract, with the potential for extension. The role can be structured to fit within school hours and offers flexible working arrangements to support work-life balance. If you're a communications professional with a flair for storytelling and a passion for meaningful change, we'd love to hear from you.
How you'll make an impact
* Work with the Marketing Manager to shape content strategies and craft strategic copy that captures attention, drives engagement, and communicates our nature-positive mission with clarity and conviction across digital, media, and stakeholder-facing channels.
* Simplify the complex by turning technical, scientific, and policy-heavy content into copy that's accessible, engaging, and easy to understand—whether it's for a social post, media release, or long-form report.
* Develop impactful copy for a range of formats—web pages, email campaigns, social media, brochures, newsletters, reports, and partner materials—always staying true to our brand voice.
* Lead the development of media releases, talking points, and PR materials to support proactive media outreach and elevate our profile in the sustainability space. Respond to reactive opportunities with clear, consistent messaging that reinforces our brand and mission.
* Work cross-functionally with subject matter experts, project teams, and external partners to ensure content is accurate, engaging, and aligned with our brand voice.
* Contribute to the development of campaigns and communications that elevate our visibility, support business development, and position Carbon Neutral as a leader in climate and nature-based solutions.
What you'll bring
* Skilled Communicator: 3+ years of experience crafting high-quality content, writing compelling headlines, and developing copy that drives engagement and inspires action.
* Professionally Qualified: A degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Creative Writing, or a related field. Additional qualifications in sustainability or environmental studies are a strong advantage.
* Attention to Detail: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and language to suit a range of formats and audiences.
* Proactive and Organised: A self-starter with excellent time management and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Confidently juggling multiple projects while maintaining high standards.
* Purpose-Driven: A strong personal commitment to sustainability, ethical business practices, and contributing to positive environmental and social outcomes.
