Overview
We’re investing heavily in our mobile ecosystem, and we’re looking for a visionary Mobile App UI Lead to elevate how members engage with RACV every day. This is your opportunity to shape the future of our high-impact mobile app used by hundreds of thousands of Victorians, and to help build a best-in-class mobile design practice while you do it. Reporting to the Head of UX, Group Design Practice, you’ll be leading the mobile UI design roadmap, delivering end-to-end UI for new features, and maintaining RACV’s mobile design system, ensuring our digital experience meets member needs and enhances engagement across iOS and Android platforms.
As Mobile App UI Lead, you will:
- Own the end-to-end UI design of the RACV mobile app across iOS and Android
- Use behavioural insights, data and feedback to deeply understand how our members interact with mobile experiences – and translate that into elegant, intuitive design
- Bring a strong systems-thinking mindset to UI design – creating consistency, scalability and polish through reusable patterns and design libraries
- Be hands-on in the craft, while shaping the broader practice of UI across our digital teams
- Champion platform best practices (iOS HIG, Material Design), accessibility, and mobile-first thinking
- Collaborate closely with UX, product, engineering and research to deliver seamless experiences at speed and scale
- Drive the strategic direction of mobile UI at RACV, anticipating future trends, technologies and member needs
- Coach and uplift fellow designers – embedding high standards in visual design, interaction, animation and responsiveness
- Advocate for great design across the organisation, influencing product strategy and fostering a culture of innovation, agility and accountability
What you’ll bring
- 8+ years of mobile UI design experience and a strong portfolio of beautifully crafted, high-performing native app designs
- Deep understanding of mobile user behaviour – what drives engagement, what creates friction, and how to design for real-world needs
- Proven ability to blend creativity with systematic thinking – bringing structure, clarity and reusability to every design
- Experience developing and maintaining mobile design systems and UI libraries
- Confidence working in fast-paced, agile environments, balancing strategic priorities with delivery timelines
- Proficiency in tools like Figma (advanced), Miro, Jira, Confluence
- A collaborative, humble approach – you thrive on feedback, ideas and diverse perspectives
- Leadership qualities that inspire, grow and support others in the team
- Passion for making digital experiences simpler, smarter and more human
Why RACV
- Flexible hybrid working arrangements
- Generous member advantages, including insurance, roadside assistance, and resort discounts
- A supportive, inclusive culture where your work has real impact
