Job Summary
Diesel fitters are responsible for carrying out maintenance and repairs to various types of vehicles and heavy machinery.
* Maintenance work includes servicing, inspecting, and repairing diesel engines and mechanical components.
* Diesel fitters may also be required to troubleshoot problems and diagnose faults in complex machinery systems.
Main Responsibilities
The role involves a range of tasks including:
* Assembling mechanical parts according to specifications;
* Troubleshooting reported problems and resolving them efficiently;
* Examining machines to identify potential issues and performing diagnostic tests to determine the root cause of problems;
* Developing plans of action for all maintenance tasks and upgrades.
About the Role
To be successful in this position, you will need to have a Diesel Mechanic qualification or equivalent experience in working with heavy machinery.
* A valid drivers licence is also essential.
* Additional desirable requirements include the ability to plan and manage workload, as well as the capacity to lead a team.
