Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Financial Analyst to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based at our campus.
This role involves providing crucial financial information, insights and guidance to the Finance Manager and Executive Team, collaborating closely with the Finance team and offering accounting services to business units within our organisation.
* Understanding and analysing business drivers and financial performance for our organisation and the sector
* Identifying trends, opportunities for improvement, and financial risks
* Collaborating with senior leaders to review financial performance and develop interventions
* Using tools like Power BI to analyse trends and financial impacts
* Assisting with business case development and capital expenditure processes
* Reconciling grants and projects, supporting finance best practices, and building financial literacy
* Developing annual budgets and rolling forecasts for our organisation
* Leading month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring ledger integrity
* Providing D365 training, triaging business requests, assisting with process improvement
* Supporting management and development of Assistant Accountant
The ideal candidate will have a minimum three years of relevant experience in health, research, or a similar sector.
Proactive and enthusiastic approach with strong time management skills
Proficient in Australian Accounting Standards and strategic decision-making
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to build relationships, meet deadlines, and problem-solve
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and financial systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365
Skilled in budgeting, reporting, and cash flow management using intelligent tools
Familiarity with financial issues in the health research sector, desired
