Remote Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer with strong Chris21 expertise to join a collaborative and high-performing team on a 7-month contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering accurate, compliant, and people-focused payroll services, while contributing to process improvements and system enhancements within a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-end processing of fortnightly and monthly payroll cycles
2. Management of salaries, superannuation, tax, and deductions
3. Processing timesheets, allowances, employee changes, and off-cycle payments
4. Responding to payroll queries and providing clear, timely support
5. Maintaining accurate and compliant payroll and employee records
6. Interpreting awards, enterprise agreements, and policies
7. Payroll reporting and reconciliation activities
8. Supporting system updates, enhancements, and risk management initiatives
9. Providing system guidance and training to stakeholders
10. Acting as backup to the Payroll Manager

About You

You're a detail-oriented payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering accurate, compliant outcomes. You enjoy improving processes and partnering with stakeholders to drive better payroll outcomes.

Skills & Experience

11. Strong experience with Chris21 (essential)
12. Proven experience in a senior payroll position
13. Solid knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, tax, and compliance
14. Experience interpreting awards and enterprise agreements
15. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
16. High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines
17. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
18. Exposure to Oracle HCM, UKG or Aurion (highly regarded)
