MANNING CARTELL are looking for a Junior Garment Technician to join our team.
An individual with meticulous attention to detail and a passion for producing quality garments from design to despatch with an emphasis on sustainability.
In this role, the Junior Garment Technician will be working closely with the patternmaker, design and production team to establish the tech details of each new garment within our collections.
The Junior Garment Technician will be able to support in technical problems between designer, patternmakers, and local and offshore makers and will own the preparation of tech packs and trims necessary for sampling and bulk.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Create detailed tech packs for local and offshore manufacturing
* Creation and updating of technical drawings for tech packs including POM directions
* Liaise with external factories to support the sampling and production process
* Ensure all sample packs meet critical path deadlines
* QC all samples from SMS through to SS
* Support the patternmaker to resolve any technical issue alongside designer in the sampling room
* Measuring of all samples and logging measurements into the tech packs
* Measuring and QC bulk SS and liaising with production to resolve any technical issues
* Taking accurate notes during fittings and liaising with patternmaker on comments and measurements
CORE COMPETENCIES
* Studied Fashion Technology, Apparel Design, or related fields

1-2 years experience as a Junior Garment Technician or similar role in the fashion/apparel industry.
* Strong knowledge of garment production processes, including patternmaking, fit and fabric properties
* Proficient in Excel, Creative Cloud, Photoshop and In Design
* Strategic communicator, able to liaise with local and offshore makers, patternmakers, and service providers effectively
* Organised and self-motivated individual
