Job Role
The Australian Federal Police is seeking a highly skilled Forensic Fingerprint Examiner to contribute to their team in Canberra, Australia.
This position involves providing specialist forensic examinations, analysis, and technical skills to support business, investigation, and intelligence outcomes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality outputs within the strategic direction of the organization, maintaining currency in fingerprint science expertise, and providing accurate, timely, and impartial forensic evidence to the courts.
* Conducting laboratory and scene-based evidence recovery roles.
* Searching, comparing, and identifying fingerprints and collecting fingerprints from deceased persons.
* Maintaining the national fingerprint database.
* Providing technical advice to domestic and international agency partners.
Australasian Forensic Science Assessment Body qualification or an equivalent Graduate Certificate in Fingerprint Examination is a mandatory requirement. Minimum 4 years of contemporary experience related to fingerprint sciences and a Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance are also necessary.
