The Darwin Building Services team is currently engaged in a broad portfolio of projects, with a strong emphasis on key initiatives in defence, civic infrastructure, and commercial sectors. The team is friendly and supportive and the projects you’ll contribute to will have a meaningful impact across the NT. The team is committed to sustainability and embraces creative design alongside practical, functional solutions tailored to client needs.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be part of a wider network of professional engineers working on both local and national projects. Specific activities will include, but are not limited to:
Provide mechanical design expertise on single and multi-disciplinary projects Deliver best practice and outcomes for clients, saving on costs and time Take lead on small to medium size engineering design projects and support larger projects Communicate effectively with all external and internal stakeholders and project teamsBe a supporting figure and mentor for lesser experienced engineers Build solid client relationships and recognize business development opportunities (desirable)
About you
Hold a recognized Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering.Demonstrated expertise in designing mechanical services systems (air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems).Have the ability to coordinate and understand relevant building services disciplines, including Electrical, Hydraulic, Fire Protection, and Environmentally Sustainable Design.Proven project experience in the building services sector across a range of projectsPossess a working knowledge of Australian building codes and standardsEnsure registration (or eligibility for registration) in the professional engineer register of the relevant state for the building/construction industry.Demonstrate a history of effectively managing competing priorities, prioritizing work, and meeting tight deadlines.
