We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our Smithtown Factory, renowned for MILO, Australia’s iconic crunchy milk drink, and the Nescafe single serve Café Menu range.
In this role, you will manage the design and development of processes for coffee mix production, ensuring quality, safety, procurement, installation, and commissioning of projects in the factory with compliance and efficiency, considering technical, business, and financial aspects.
Responsibilities include:
* Collaborating with R&D, production, and quality control teams to identify process improvements and implement solutions.
* Conducting feasibility studies and cost analyses for new projects, considering equipment, materials, and labor requirements.
* Developing and maintaining process documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and flow diagrams.
* Leading process optimization and troubleshooting activities, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
* Engaging with equipment vendors to select and procure machinery and materials for the coffee mixes line.
* Conducting process validation and qualification activities to ensure compliance with standards.
* Training and mentoring production staff on new processes and equipment for smooth transition.
* Monitoring process data for trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Staying updated with industry trends and integrating new technologies and practices.
Requirements include:
* A tertiary qualification in Chemical, Manufacturing, or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
* 3 to 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
* Familiarity with the food and beverage industry, especially coffee mix production, and understanding industry-specific standards and regulations.
* Experience with engineering software and manual drawing skills, e.g., AutoCAD.
* Proven project management skills from initiation to completion, including planning, resource allocation, and effective communication.
* Leadership experience with a track record of delivering results and managing teams.
