Delivery of high-quality legal services that meet client expectations, manage business and legal risks, compliance requirements, and professional standards.
Contribute to the commercial business success of the legal team, including personal achievement of revenue expectations.
Achieving outstanding client service, focusing on relationship building and business winning, as well as proactively identifying business opportunities and supporting the delivery of new services.
Maintain and strengthen professional relationships with client instructing areas and senior officers, ensuring recognition of the organization as a high-value legal services provider.
This includes taking primary responsibility for managing client relationships at an organizational level, representing and promoting the organization in various forums, and leading marketing activities.
Supervise and support lawyers/graduates and other practice group members to achieve practice group goals involving the delivery of legal services, effective resource utilization, and financial management of matters.
In some practice groups, this includes monitoring and managing the legal professional development and performance of lawyers and graduates.
Promote, participate in, and, as required, lead and manage initiatives that support the broader goals and priorities of the practice group and organization.
Participate in professional development activities, organization networks, and meet Continuing Legal Education requirements and other expectations.
Provide a safe and supportive working environment by ensuring compliance with the APS Code of Conduct and applying the department's policies in work health and safety, diversity, discrimination, and harassment.
Education and Experience Information:
For a Lawyer (APS5), generally at least 1-4 years of relevant post-admission experience (PAE) or equivalent legal experience.
For a Lawyer (APS6), generally at least years of relevant PAE or equivalent legal experience.
For a Senior Lawyer (EL1), generally at least 5 years or more PAE.
For a Senior Lawyer (EL2), generally at least 7 years or more PAE.
Professional standing in the Commonwealth public sector and/or legal profession.
Australian Citizenship is required.
Salary Information: The organization offers commercially competitive remuneration packages, including % superannuation.
Additional Information
The roles are full-time and non-ongoing opportunities for up to 12 months, with the possibility for extension.
Positions are available in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney.
Candidates must be willing to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the appropriate level.
Successful candidates will work within practice groups such as Dispute Resolution, Office of General Counsel, and Commercial.
