The Position
We are currently seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse to join our recovery team. The role is an essential part of the perioperative nursing team that cares for and monitors patients as they recover from anesthesia effects. Recovery nurses are responsible for all aspects of patient care following surgery, including monitoring heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, and respiration, as well as managing pain and nausea post-anesthesia.
Recovery nurses must think critically, make confident decisions in a fast-paced clinical environment, and communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team. As a Clinical Nurse, you will assist the Nurse Unit Manager in providing expert clinical and patient-centered care, supporting the delivery of quality and cost-effective nursing services aligned with contemporary standards and evidence-based practice.
The Friendlies hospital has a five-theatre complex offering a wide range of surgeries, including ENT, Orthopaedic, General, Plastic and Cosmetic, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Urology, and Vascular Surgery.

Key Selection Criteria
* Evidence of tertiary qualifications & current registration with AHPRA
* Postgraduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (or working towards) - highly desirable
* Certified in Advanced Life Support
* Minimum 1 year experience in a Recovery setting
* Ability to think critically and make confident decisions in a fast-paced environment
* Working knowledge of RosterOn, Riskman, Trendcare, and Microsoft applications
* Knowledge of patient flow and bed management
* Attention to detail, accurate documentation, and confidentiality
