**About the role**:
HRT Electrics Pty Ltd is seeking a full-time Telecommunications Cable Jointer to join our team to deliver critical NBN infrastructure projects across NSW by jointing, terminating, testing and repairing copper and fibre optic telecommunications cables. This role requires hands-on technical expertise in fibre optic and copper cable systems, compliance with NBN requirements and safety standards, and regional fieldwork coordination.
**Main duties**:
- Collaborate with clients for project scoping and planning to determine required tasks, materials, and methodologies.
- Examine, review and amend technical work plans and drawings, and submit them to NBN and clients for approval.
- Joint, terminate, and repair fibre optic and copper telecommunications cables in underground conduits, trenches, and aerial systems for NBN infrastructure projects across NSW, especially regional areas.
- Perform cable splicing, testing, and fault-finding to ensure compliance with NBN standards and optimal signal performance.
- Operate specialised tools and equipment for cable hauling, trenching, pit installation, and coordinate civil works as needed.
- Conduct final testing to validate network integrity and resolve signal degradation issues.
- Maintain compliance with WHS and NBN safety standards by completing daily documentation and accurately recording splicing configurations, test results, and other technical data.
- Lead the team, coordinate material procurement, cost analysis, and logistics for regional deployments, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to client specifications.
**Qualifications & Experience requirements**:
- Qualification in telecommunications, electrical/electronics or related fields.
- At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in telecommunication industry and NBN cable systems.
- Strong knowledge and skills in cable jointing, terminating, splicing, network testing, and fault diagnosis.
- Robust problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations, codes, and safety standards.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and under pressure.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
