We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join a leading food manufacturing site located 10‐15 minutes south‐west of Bendigo. This is a full‐time day shift, Monday to Friday position, offering a stable schedule, strong work‐life balance, and a competitive salary.
About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance or Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining production and packaging equipment across key processing areas. You'll play a critical role in minimising downtime, improving equipment reliability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Preventive and breakdown maintenance on processing and packaging machinery
* Mechanical fault finding across pneumatics, hydraulics, and gearboxes
* Respond promptly to breakdowns and complete effective repairs
* Equipment setup, calibration, and adjustments for production runs
* Fault finding and root cause analysis (RCA)
* Adhere to safety, hygiene, and food compliance standards
* Complete CMMS (MEX) maintenance reporting and handovers
* Support apprentices and work closely with electrical and production teams
About You
* Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter or similar
* Experience in food, FMCG, or manufacturing environments preferred
* Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
* Machining or welding skills advantageous (not essential)
* Able to work effectively in a fast‐paced manufacturing environment
* Heavy Diesel / HD Fitters with strong mechanical backgrounds encouraged to apply
