Counsellor | Systemic Counselling for Optimal Placement Experience (SCOPE) | Ipswich

* Employment Term: Maximum Term to 23 April 2027, Full-Time (76 hours per fortnight).

* Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:36 pm

* Location: Ipswich

* Remuneration: $51 p/hr + Super + NFP Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay)

Your part in our UnitingCare team

The Systemic Counselling for Optimal Placement Experience (SCOPE) program provides individualised assessment, therapeutic intervention and support to children and young people aged 5 and over, with moderate to complex needs, who are in the care of Child Safety.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide professional counselling to individual children living in out-of-home care, and more limited support to the foster carers and family members of children in the program.

* The support may include emotional and psychological counselling support to children and young people.

* Holistic and integrated work with their support systems, including schools, health systems and recreational activities.

The SCOPE team values work–life balance, regular supervision, and ongoing professional development. The team promote shared learning, peer support, and celebrate individual differences to foster a strong, collaborative team culture.

What makes a difference for us?

* A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant human services field, i.e. Counselling, Social Work, Psychology or Behavioural Science.

* Eligibility for registration or membership to AASW, APS, ACA, PACFA or other recognised body

* Demonstrated skills and sound knowledge gained through experience working with children and families.

* Child protection experience is preferred but not essential.

* Current Driver's Licence.

* Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
