Responsibilities:
* Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine dimensions, materials, and installation procedures.
* Order, prepare, and select timbers and other materials with precision.
* Measure, cut, shape, and assemble timber and related materials using both hand and power tools.
* Construct framework, roof framing, sub-flooring, and floorboards to meet structural requirements.
* Install doors, windows, frames, flooring, and decorative finishes.
* Fit exterior wall cladding, nail fascia panels, and sheath roofs.
* Assemble and install wooden structures and fittings.
* Construct concrete formwork as needed.
* Cut and shape joints for assembling wooden structures and fittings.
* Perform renovations and repairs on existing structures and fittings.
* Work with diverse materials, including wood, plywood, wallboard, laminates, perspex, and metals.
* Ensure all carpentry work complies with building codes and safety standards.
* Collaborate effectively with other tradespeople and team members to complete projects on time.
Skills & Qualifications:
* AQF Certificate III in Carpentry + 2 years of on-the-job training, OR AQF Certificate IV in Carpentry (or related field).
* Proven experience as a Carpenter.
* Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, construction methods, and materials.
* Skilled in safe and effective use of various hand and power tools.
* Flexible to work on a rotating roster and adaptable to project requirements.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
