Tool Repair Technician


We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Tool Repair Technician to join our growing construction support team. This role is ideal for someone mechanically minded who takes pride in maintaining tools to a high standard and keeping crews productive and safe.

About the Role


You will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, repair, and testing of construction tools used across residential and commercial projects.


Key Responsibilities

* Repair and service power tools, hand tools, and small plant
* Conduct Test & Tag in line with Australian Standards (or willingness to obtain)
* Diagnose faults and carry out preventative maintenance
* Maintain accurate service and repair records
* Manage tool inventory and report damaged or missing equipment
* Ensure all tools meet safety and compliance requirements
* Liaise with site teams regarding tool issues and replacements
* Maintain a clean, organised workshop environment
* Order parts and components as required, liaising with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure timely procurement and cost-effective purchasing
* Coordinate with tool suppliers and service agents for warranty repairs and process manufacturer warranty claims
* Undertake off-the-street tool repairs and external warranty repair work where required

About You

* Previous experience in tool repair, mechanical fitting, electrical trade, or similar
* Minimum 1–2 years of experience in tool repair, mechanical fitting, or electrical trade
* Experience in any one of the specified areas (tool repair, mechanical fitting, or electrical trade) is sufficient
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
* Familiar with construction tools (Makita, Milwaukee, DeWalt, etc.)
* Understanding of OH&S requirements in construction environments
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
* Ability to supervise and manage a small team if required
* Current driver's licence (preferred)
* Test & Tag qualification highly regarded (or willingness to obtain)
* Valid Australian work rights are required for this position
