The School of Health Sciences offers an extensive range of quality accredited undergraduate and postgraduate programs designed to engage students from learning opportunities in class through to professional workplace experience.
About the role
The primary responsibilities are to work as part of a team to the establish, maintain and coordinate a high-quality clinical education stream within the physiotherapy program and to deliver physiotherapy courses within the program. This includes working with academic colleagues, clinical facilities and relevant external stakeholders to ensure good governance, quality and relevancy in all areas of the clinical education stream, on-campus learning and teaching within the program and the student experience.
Key Responsibilitie s
* The conduct of tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions, clinical sessions and studio sessions.
* Initiation and development of course material.
* Acting as subject coordina tors.
* The preparation and delivery of lectures and seminars.
* Supervision of major honours or postgraduate research projects.
* Supervision of the program of study of honours students and of postgraduate students engaged in course work.
* The conduct of research.
* Significant role in research projects including, where appropriate, leadership of a research team.
* Involvement in professional activity.
* Consultation with students.
* Broad administrative functions.
* Marking and assessment.
Qualifications, skills & experience
* Registered Physiotherapist with the Physiotherapists Registration Board under AHPR A .
* Possess or working towards a doctoral qualification in Physiotherapy or equivalent accreditation and standing.
* S ignificant clinical experience and knowledge/network within the clinical education domain is highly desirable.
* In determining experience relative to qualifications, regard will be had to teaching experience, experience in research, experience outside tertiary education, creative achievement, professional contributions and/or technical achievement. In addition a position at this level will normally require a record of demonstrable scholarly and professional achievement in the relevant discipline area.
