Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is offering an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and dedicated Permanent Full Time Registered Nurses to join the Mental Health In-Patient Unit Team at Gosford Hospital.

About the Role

This position is central to delivering acute mental health care and crisis intervention across the Central Coast. You will work within a supportive, multidisciplinary team on a seven-day rotating roster and may be required to assist other mental health teams to ensure continuity of safe and responsive care.

In this role, you will conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, provide expert clinical guidance to consumers, carers, and other healthcare professionals, and advocate for person-centred, family-inclusive, and carer-supportive care. You will also triage referrals from inpatient units, community mental health services, and the Mental Health Line.

The successful candidate will bring advanced clinical expertise, sound decision-making, and a compassionate approach to care, supporting individuals experiencing mental health crises and helping them achieve the best possible outcomes.

About You

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA, with the skills and confidence to deliver high-quality mental health care in a dynamic and supportive environment.

- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, valuing diverse perspectives to provide holistic, patient-centred care.

- Able to manage complex clinical situations with empathy, resilience, and professionalism.

- Dedicated to ongoing professional development and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
