Title: Intelligence Analyst

Location: Sydney

Salary: $80,000

Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an Intelligence Analyst to support SPG's business, security operations, crisis management, and client intelligence functions. This role requires strong analytical capability combined with operational awareness - including monitoring alarms and CCTV for threat detection, coordinating alarm and access control responses, contributing to crisis management, and maintaining and implementing SOPs. You'll be responsible for open-source intelligence (OSINT) monitoring of news, threats, and sentiment related to clients, as well as assessing global and local risks and emerging events. The Intelligence Analyst collects and interprets information from multiple sources to produce actionable intelligence that supports planning, operations, and strategic decision-making across the organisation.

The Opportunity

In this role, you'll lead the collection, analysis, and dissemination of intelligence to support SPG's organisational and client security objectives. You'll develop and manage intelligence priorities, conduct ongoing threat and risk assessments, and implement effective mitigation strategies. Acting as a subject matter expert, you'll provide insight on geopolitical and reputational risk, terrorism, cyber threats, political stability, and other emerging global issues. You'll also play a critical role in building and maintaining strong relationships across SPG's internal teams and external networks, while contributing to the continual improvement of SPG's intelligence framework, systems, and processes.

Tasks

* Determining organisational and client intelligence requirements
* Organising, collecting, collating and analysing data, and developing intelligence information such as electronic surveillance
* Compiling and disseminating intelligence information using briefings, maps, charts, reports and other methods
* Ascertaining the accuracy of data collected and reliability of sources
* Conducting threat and risk assessments and developing responses
* Liaising and consulting with program administrators and other interested parties to identify policy needs
* Reviewing existing policies and legislation to identify anomalies and out-of-date provisions
* Researching social, economic and industrial trends, and client expectations of programs and services provided
* Track and analyse emerging threats domestically and internationally, contextualising findings for SPG's operational environment.
* Produce comprehensive intelligence assessments and updates on rapidly developing situations.
* Undertake investigations and profile analyses to identify potential threats, criminal intent, or concerning behaviours.
* Collaborate with program administrators and other stakeholders to identify intelligence needs and inform policy development.
* Engage proactively as part of the SPG team to enhance intelligence capability and operational effectiveness.

Qualities and Qualifications:

* Passionate and self-motivated and can effectively prioritise, manage deadlines and understand new ideas and concepts
* 3-5 years' analytical experience in government, law enforcement, military, or private sector threat analysis; ability to work independently and think critically
* Tertiary qualification in International Relations, Law, Political Science, Global Security Studies, National Security, Regional/Cultural/ Area Studies and/or related area desired
* Demonstrated knowledge Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT)
* Interpersonal skills and proven ability to collaborate across functional teams
* Demonstrates ability to lead teams in researching multifaceted or critical problems
* Provides guidance in selecting, designing, and applying analytic methodologies
* Strong oral and written communications skills and experience briefing senior decision-makers
* International experience and appreciation for cultural differences
* Demonstrated ability to build partnerships, networks, and sustainable working relationships with direct peers and key internal and external business partners
* Adaptable, flexible, well organised, and creative
* Track record of successful partnerships with leaders at all levels.
