Disability Support Worker | Nanango QLD
Casual | Afternoon & Weekend Shifts
With A Little Care is seeking a compassionate and experienced female Disability Support Worker to join our team in Nanango, QLD.
This role involves supporting two teenage participants in their home and community, with a focus on encouraging independence, building life skills, daily living tasks, community access, skill development, and providing a positive and supportive environment.
Current shifts include:
* Wednesday: 3:00pm – 5:00pm
* Friday: 3:00pm – 5:00pm
* Fortnightly Saturday: 9:00am – 11:00am (community activities such as gymnastics)
Hours are likely to increase in future.
The family also has animals (cats, dog, horses, and chickens), so applicants must be comfortable around animals and have no allergies.
Support will involve working with participants who have:
* Autism (Level 2)
* ADHD
* Intellectual impairment
A Positive Behaviour Support Plan is in place, and the successful applicant will be required to assist with implementing strategies within the home and community.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
* Has experience supporting children or teens with autism and complex support needs
* Is patient, calm, and able to build rapport with young people
* Can provide guidance while encouraging independence
* Is able to support daily living skills such as cooking and routine tasks
* Has a sense of humour and a positive approach
* Can remain calm during moments of frustration or emotional escalation
* Is confident supporting community outings
Essential Requirements
* Experience in disability support
* Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support strategies (or willingness to learn)
* Valid Driver's Licence
* Reliable vehicle
* NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
* First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain)
