Maintenance & Operations Assistant – Short-Term Rental Business
About the role
We are a fast-growing short-term rental company managing multiple properties. We're seeking a reliable, hands-on Maintenance & Operations Assistant to support the City Manager with day-to-day operations, emergency interventions, and property maintenance.
Required background
Professional training or strong practical experience in at least one of:
* Plumbing
* Electrical work
* Construction / renovation
(Experience across multiple areas is a strong advantage.)
Key responsibilities
* Assist the City Manager with errands, urgent tasks, and emergency call-outs.
* Perform small maintenance works across multiple properties.
* Move and assemble furniture for handovers, new acquisitions, and returns.
* Carry out basic renovation tasks, including:
* Patching and repairing walls
* Painting
* Minor plumbing repairs
* Minor electrical work
* Help organise and manage the warehouse alongside the City Manager.
Requirements
* Valid driving licence; comfortable driving a small truck or large van.
* Physically fit; able to lift and move furniture safely.
* Reliable, proactive, and solution-oriented; able to work independently.
* Willing to respond to urgent situations when required.
Nice to have
* Experience in hospitality or short-term rentals.
* Strong troubleshooting ability and practical problem-solving.
* Knowledge of basic tools and safe work practices.
