Australian-designed women's wear label Arcina Ori was founded in 2020 by Zoe Calodoukas. The Role
The Technical Design Assistant is a core role within the Arcina Ori design room, responsible for managing technical documentation, sample tracking, and day-to-day garment development support.
This role works in close partnership with the Garment Technician, carrying the technical workload between fit sessions and ensuring all garments are developed accurately, efficiently, and in line with Arcina Ori's standards.
This is atechnical-focused role, not a purely creative design assistant position.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Design & Documentation
* Create and maintain detailed tech packs, including:
* Measurements and tolerances
* Construction and finishing notes
* Fabric and trim specifications
* Update tech packs accurately following Garment Technician feedback
* Maintain seasonal style registers and development trackers
Sample & Fit Support
* Measure all samples accurately and record fit feedback
* Prepare samples and documentation for fit sessions
* Attend fit sessions and document comments clearly
* Pre-review samples to flag issues prior to GT review
Factory Communication
* Send clear, structured sample comments to offshore factories
* Follow up on pattern changes and re-sampling
* Ensure all files are correct and complete before bulk release
Design & Range Support
* Produce CADs and colourways aligned with Arcina Ori's design handwriting
* Support fabric, trim, and colour tracking
* Assist the Head Designer with range coordination tasks
Quality & Process Control
* Identify inconsistencies in measurements, construction, or execution
* Support Production with PP and bulk documentation
* Maintain organised digital filing systems
Skills & Experience
* Strong understanding of garment construction and technical terminology
* Experience measuring garments and working with specs
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Confident written communication with offshore manufacturers
* Experience working with premium woven fabrics preferred
