About the role

As Sous Chef at Lichi Restaurant, you will play a key role in the kitchen, supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day operations and helping to deliver exceptional catering services to our clients in Port Douglas, QLD. This is a full-time position and will involve working alongside a talented team of culinary professionals.

What you'll be doing

* Assisting the Head Chef in planning and executing catering menus for a variety of events and functions
* Supervising and coordinating the kitchen team to ensure efficient and timely meal preparation
* Ensuring consistent high quality in the presentation and taste of all dishes
* Maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards in the kitchen
* Providing guidance and mentorship to junior kitchen staff
* Assisting with inventory management and ordering of kitchen supplies
* Contributing to the development of new and innovative catering concepts

What we're looking for

* Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role in a high-volume restaurant environment
* Formal culinary training and/or qualification in Hospitality or Cookery
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
* Keen eye for food presentation and plating
* Up-to-date knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
* Passion for creating innovative and delicious catering menus
