Administrative Officer
Office of the Hon Josh Willie MP, Tasmanian Labor Leader
We are seeking an efficient and highly organised individual to join our team in the Office of the Hon Josh Willie MP, Tasmanian Labor Leader. This role undertakes a broad range of duties to help ensure the efficient day-to-day functioning of the office for the Tasmanian Labor Opposition.
What you'll do:
* Manage incoming correspondence, respond to constituent enquiries and maintain records in accordance with office protocols.
* Draft routine correspondence and assist in responding to a range of internal and external communications.
* Assist with the preparation of draft content aligned with policy and political priorities for stakeholder and constituent engagement.
* Maintain office supplies, equipment, and facilities to support the operational needs of the Leader's Office.
* Provide administrative support to the Office Manager and other team members as required.
* Contribute to a positive, collaborative and professional team culture.
* Undertake other duties as directed, consistent with the scope and responsibilities of the role.
Selection criteria:
Essential
1. Proven capacity to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
2. High-level organisational and self-management skills, including the ability to work independently to prioritise tasks and deliver outcomes under pressure.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly for different audiences across a range of formats.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook and stakeholder management platforms, with the ability to assist in efficiently managing databases and coordinating communications.
5. Ability to use initiative to work both independently and as part of a small team.
Desirable
1. Experience in administrative or office support role, preferably in a government or political environment.
2. An understanding of the Tasmanian political environment.
