EVENTS MANAGER
Kooringal Golf Club – Altona Victoria
Kooringal Golf Club is a vibrant 18-hole private golf club and community venue, offering a full-service restaurant, bar lounge, gaming facilities, and a strong calendar of member and corporate events. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Events Manager to play a key role in delivering outstanding events and supporting day-to-day restaurant operations.
This is a hands-on leadership position suited to a hospitality professional who thrives on organisation, service excellence, and building strong relationships with members, guests, and clients.
About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this dual-role position is responsible for:
* Planning, coordinating, and delivering a wide range of events, including corporate golf days, private functions, member events, and club promotions.
* Assisting in the management of the club's restaurant and bar operations to ensure consistent service standards, financial performance, and team engagement.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the primary point of contact for all events and functions from initial enquiry through to post-event follow-up.
* Plan, coordinate, and execute corporate golf days, private functions, and club events.
* Prepare event proposals, quotations, run sheets, and function orders.
* Liaise with internal departments including golf operations, catering, bar, and administration to ensure seamless event delivery.
* Manage event timelines, staffing requirements, room set-ups, and supplier coordination.
* Upsell club facilities, food and beverage packages, and value-added services.
* Ensure events meet budget, service, and presentation expectations.
* Support the Restaurant Manager in the daily operation of the restaurant and bar.
* Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service to members and guests.
* Assist with staff supervision, training, and rostering.
* Ensure compliance with food safety, WHS, RSA, and club policies.
* Monitor service standards, presentation, and cleanliness across all outlets.
* Assist with stock control, ordering, and cost management.
* Step into supervisory or management duties as required
About You
- Proven experience in events coordination, function management, or hospitality management.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple events and priorities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and support a hospitality team.
- Sound understanding of food and beverage operations.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Previous experience in a similar role within hospitality, clubs, hotels, or event venues.
* Current RSA (VIC) – essential.
* Strong computer skills (POS systems, event documentation, email, and basic reporting).
