Mental Health Clinician - Ambulance Police Program Position Overview
This is a unique opportunity to join our team as a Mental Health Clinician in the Ambulance Police Program. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing mobile, recovery-oriented clinical assessments and support to NSW Ambulance and Police managing mental health-related cases.
The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge of mental health disorders and have excellent communication skills to work effectively with emergency services and consumers with complex mental and physical health needs.
We are seeking an experienced clinician who can provide high-quality clinical leadership, consultancy, and support to our teams.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Mobile Clinical Assessments: Provide highly mobile, recovery-orientated clinical assessments, consultancy, and support to NSW Ambulance and Police managing mental health-related cases.
2. Clinical Leadership: Lead in trialing virtual assessment of consumers in the community who are geographically isolated, providing clinical leadership and guidance.
3. Mental Health Triage: Work with NSW Ambulance and Police to provide mental health triage, primary client assessment, and management of complex mental health emergencies and crises at an advanced level.
4. Collaboration: Utilise extensive knowledge of mental health disorders to provide support, treatment, coordination, and education to emergency services working with consumers with complex mental and physical health needs.
Key Requirements:
* Degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
* Experience working in mental health services, preferably in a mobile or outreach setting.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
