The Opportunity
Join Australia's highest-performing and fastest-growing specialist Defence Recruitment team. This is a critical, 360-degree permanent recruitment role designed for an experienced, sales-driven professional to take on a highly lucrative and established desk that will be based in Wayville, SA.
You will step into an "extremely warm" desk with multiple mature key client accounts and live roles.. The former incumbent was a consistent top biller, achieving $300K - $400K annually, showcasing the significant earning potential within this desk.
Your Core Focus & Technical Specialisation
This role requires a deep focus on defence industry clients (approx. 70-80% of the desk), specifically working with major Primes and industry companies who build for the Department of Defence.
360-Degree Recruitment
Own the end-to-end recruitment process for permanent, senior-level engineering and project roles.
Technical Placements
Specialise in engaging and placing senior engineering talent in one of the following domains.
Engineering
* Mechanical
* Aerospace
* Electrical
* Electronics
* Systems
* Construction
* Infrastructure
Project Management
Logistics & ILS
(with a strong preference for systems engineering exposure).
Sales & Business Development (BD)
This is a key sales role, requiring active client hunting, networking, attending conferences, and expanding relationships within both BTL industry clients and Above-the-Line (ATL) Federal Government/Department of Defence clients.
Key Account Management
Competently manage and expand existing relationships with key client accounts.
Your Background
We are seeking a seasoned professional, ideally with a proven history in permanent recruitment, sales and /or has been a military veteran.
Defence Sector Experience
Prior experience recruiting for defence roles (ATL or BTL clients) or an intimate knowledge of the Australian defence industry and associated job titles.
Sales & Account Management Acumen
A strong, confident, and competent sales personality with the ability to confidently manage complex client relationships and drive active new business acquisition.
Technical Recruitment Background
Experience with, or strong interest in, technical engineering roles within industrial, manufacturing, construction or aerospace with a background that can translate to the defence engineering sector.
We are also open to considering exceptional candidates from related fields who possess the right aptitude
Account Managers
with defence experience willing to take on a strong sales/BD component.
Technical Recruitment (from related sectors)
Candidates with a strong technical recruitment background from related sectors (e.g., engineering construction, infrastructure) who are keen to specialise in defence.
Veterans
(Army, Navy, Air Force) looking to transition into a sales-oriented recruitment career.
