The Information Systems Security Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the security and integrity of an organization's information systems. Reporting to the Information Systems Security Manager, this position is responsible for developing and managing information systems security policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Key responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and updating authorization packages, as well as ensuring procedures are in place for clearing, sanitizing, and destroying hardware and media. The ISSO also conducts periodic reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with the security authorization package and coordinates changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware.

In addition, the ISSO monitors system recovery processes, keeps IS security documentation current and accessible, and attends required technical and security training. This individual identifies cyber security vulnerabilities and assists with implementing countermeasures, prepares reports on the status of security safeguards applied to computer systems, and ensures compliance with site environmental health and safety requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements

 * Bachelor's degree in a related field
 ">
 * CISSP, Security+, or equivalent certification
 ">
 * MCSA or equivalent certification
 ">
 * Driver's license
 ">
 * Experience in a current ISSO role with IA Certifications
 ">
 * Knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, and technical report writing
