Associate Director - Core Data & Analytics
NSW Government Organisation – Hybrid Sydney Olympic Park, Surry Hills & WFH (3 days in office) – ASAP start; initial assignment until 30/06/2026 + possible extensions – pay rate: $1277 per day (including super)
Key accountabilities:
Program & Project Delivery Leadership
* Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of complex, multi-stream projects
* Ensure alignment between project deliverables, organisational strategy, business outcomes, and stakeholder expectations.
Service Establishment & Operationalisation
* Drive the establishment of new services and capabilities
* Oversee transition-to-service activities, ensuring clear ownership, support models, operating processes, and performance measures are in place.
Procurement & Vendor Management
* Lead end-to-end procurement activities
* Manage vendor performance, delivery obligations, and commercial frameworks
Stakeholder & Cross-Project Coordination
* Build strong relationships across projects and programs, ensuring early identification and management of integration points, impacts, and dependencies.
* Facilitate collaborative planning and decision-making
Governance, Reporting & Assurance
* Establish and maintain effective project governance
* Drive adherence to organisational project management frameworks, policies, and assurance requirements.
Risk, Issue & Change Management
* Proactively identify and manage program-level and project-level risks, issues, and delivery constraints.
* Implement structured change control processes to manage scope, complexity, and emerging priorities.
Leadership & Team Management
* Provide guidance, direction, and support to project managers and delivery teams
* Foster a positive delivery culture, supporting capability uplift and continuous improvement.
Selection criteria:
* Demonstrated experience leading and project-managing large, complex and multi-stream initiatives
* Proven capability establishing new services or organisational capabilities
* Strong experience delivering digital and data projects
* Expertise in applying contemporary program and project management methodologies
* Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills
* Strong understanding of project governance, reporting, assurance and financial environments
* Demonstrated capability leading multidisciplinary teams and uplifting capability
