Offer description

On behalf of our client, Brainbox is recruiting a capable HR Administrator to support a high-energy business leader with multiple commercial ventures.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, communicates exceptionally well, and can bring structure to a fast-moving environment with many people, compliance, and coordination needs.

This role blends human resources administration, recruitment coordination, compliance management, and practical everyday support. If you enjoy variety, have strong attention to detail, and bring confidence to HR processes and people-related tasks, this is an opportunity to take ownership in a fast-moving, trust-based environment.

About the Role

The HR Administrator is responsible for supporting, coordinating, and maintaining key human resource functions to ensure the organisation operates with a capable, compliant, and well-supported workforce. The role contributes across recruitment, onboarding, staff training, workforce planning, performance coordination, and employee well‑being—ensuring high standards of accuracy, compliance, and consistency in all people‑related processes.

You will help ensure the organisation maintains compliance with employment laws, Fair Work requirements, and internal governance frameworks. This includes accurate record‑keeping, managing workforce documentation, tracking clearances or mandatory requirements, and supporting leaders with HR‑related queries.

The position also plays an important role in fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture by assisting with staff engagement activities, development programs, retention initiatives, and general HR coordination. Your work will help ensure team members feel informed, supported, and set up for success.

Key Responsibilities

Workforce Planning & Recruitment

Lead end‑to‑end recruitment processes to ensure the organisation attracts and retains high‑quality staff across all business areas.

Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies aligned with organisational values and workforce needs.

Ensure all new hires meet mandatory employment and compliance requirements, including background checks and relevant pre‑employment documentation.

Oversee the onboarding and induction process, ensuring new employees are prepared, informed, and set up for success.

Work closely with managers and senior leadership to understand workforce priorities and ensure staffing needs are met.

Employee Relations & Performance Management

Support the development and implementation of performance frameworks, including feedback processes, goal setting, and professional development pathways.

Assist in managing employee relations matters such as grievances, disciplinary processes, and dispute resolution in line with Fair Work legislation.

Keep HR policies and procedures updated and aligned with Australian employment law.

Contribute to maintaining a positive and supportive workplace culture where staff feel valued and engaged.

Provide HR guidance to leaders and managers to support consistent and fair people practices.

Staff Training, Development & Retention

Monitor and ensure completion of mandatory training and role‑specific compliance requirements.

Coordinate and support continuous professional development (CPD) programmes to build staff capability and strengthen career progression.

Assist in implementing leadership development initiatives for managers and emerging leaders.

Support retention strategies by helping identify workforce challenges, monitoring wellbeing indicators, and contributing to initiatives that reduce burnout and improve engagement.

Compliance & Workplace Health & Safety (WHS)

Ensure organisational compliance with Fair Work Australia, NSW employment legislation, and internal governance frameworks.

Maintain accurate HR documentation, contracts, personnel files, and compliance records.

Support WHS compliance by assisting with incident reporting, risk management, and promoting safe working conditions.

Assist with mandatory reporting requirements related to staff suitability, employment standards, or internal risk controls.

Work closely with senior leaders to support HR audits, risk mitigation activities, and employment governance processes.

HR Policy Development & Process Improvement

Assist with the development and review of HR policies and procedures to ensure best‑practice people management.

Regularly update HR policies to reflect changes in legislation and organisational priorities.

Identify and implement HR process improvements to enhance efficiency and streamline workflows.

Maintain accurate and timely HR data to support reporting, workforce planning, and strategic decision‑making.

Support staff engagement initiatives that promote a positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture.

Assist with wellbeing programmes, including mental health resources, employee support initiatives, and wellness activities.

Coordinate team‑building activities and internal events that strengthen connection and morale.

Monitor key indicators of employee satisfaction and contribute strategies to strengthen retention and workplace wellbeing.

About You

You are someone who brings clarity, structure, and strong professional judgement to HR operations. You communicate well, work confidently with competing priorities, and enjoy combining HR coordination, compliance, recruitment, and practical problem‑solving in a fast‑moving environment. You take pride in accuracy, balancing people support with policy requirements, and keeping the organisation aligned with employment law and best practice.

You will succeed here if you have:

* Strong understanding of employment law, Fair Work requirements, and HR compliance.
* Experience in recruitment, screening, onboarding, and supporting workforce planning.
* Confident communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support leaders and staff.
* Capability to manage HR documentation, records, contracts, and confidential information accurately.
* Skill in supporting employee relations, conflict resolution, and positive workplace culture.
