Job tasks and Responsibilities
We are seeking a suitably qualified, dynamic and energetic Senior Support Worker to lead and support our team within our Respite service.
This hands-on leadership role works alongside Support Workers to deliver exceptional, person-centred supports within our Respite service. The Senior Support Worker provides day-to-day guidance and mentoring to ensure consistent, high-quality active support and the effective implementation of support plans and individual strategies. Working closely with the Residential Operations Manager, the role contributes to participant profiles, support planning and structured activities, while assisting with service coordination requirements such as rosters and appointments. A key focus of the position is fostering a positive team culture that values respect, accountability and participant choice.
Due to the nature of Respite services, this role operates across a 24/7 roster, including sleepovers, weekends and public holidays and includes participation in an out-of-hours roster.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Proven experience delivering exceptional support to participants with varying support needs and their families
Demonstrated experience working with people with physical, intellectual or learning disabilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Effective interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships
Confidence using IT systems and applications
Ability to coordinate and maintain staff rosters and service requirements
Cert III in Individual Support (Disability) and/or Certificate IV in Disability (or working towards)
Current First Aid Certificate
Current Working with Vulnerable People Card (or ability to obtain)
Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain)
Medication Endorsement
