The Opportunity
This is a rare chance to join a technically exceptional and collaborative global business, taking full ownership of building and leading the Oceania sales function. As part of a highly technical organisation rich in engineering and combustion expertise, and reporting directly to the CEO, you will drive commercial activity across Australia and New Zealand and play a key role in accelerating market penetration and revenue growth. You'll step into a warm market with strong brand recognition, long‑standing customer relationships, and significant untapped potential. With full autonomy, you'll develop the regional commercial strategy, secure major projects, and establish a high‑performing sales team beneath you as revenue grows. This role can be based in Adelaide, Melbourne, or Perth.
Commercial Leadership & Growth
* Lead all business development activities across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.
* Drive deeper penetration into key accounts by mapping stakeholders and managing long‑cycle technical sales processes.
* Develop a scalable sales portfolio and build a team as revenue increases.
Sales Execution
* Identify and pursue opportunities in core sectors: iron ore (incl. pelletising), cement, lime, minerals, pulp & paper, and broader heavy industry.
* Sell complex, heavily engineered OEM products including proprietary burner systems, combustion modelling solutions, and supporting equipment.
* Prepare and deliver proposals quickly and accurately by coordinating with engineering, commercial, and project teams.
Customer Engagement
* Engage stakeholders from operations managers through to board members, procurement heads, sustainability leaders, and project directors.
* Travel across Australia and NZ (approx. 50–60%, mostly day trips; minimal overnight stays).
Internal Collaboration
* Work closely with the Head of Projects, Head of Engineering, senior process engineers, sales coordination specialists, and finance (CFO).
* Operate within the business CRM (PipeDrive) and work in close alignment with the Global Chief Business Development Officer through a dotted reporting line.
About You
This role suits a commercially driven, mechanically minded sales leader who thrives in complex industrial environments.
You will likely bring:
* Experience selling into cement, minerals, lime, iron ore, steel, or related process industries .
* A strong understanding of combustion, pyro‑processing, or heavy engineered equipment - or the mechanical aptitude to learn it quickly.
* Proven ability to grow revenue, manage long sales cycles, and build trusted relationships at all organisational levels.
* High sales acumen, resilience, and a genuine hunger to build a business unit.
Candidates with a background in combustion, heat treatment, engineering, or technical sales in heavy industry will be highly regarded.
