About the Role
Reporting to the Foundation Principal, the Deputy Principal will play a pivotal role in establishing the culture, routines, and operational excellence of our new school.
* Leadership & School Operations
* Supporting compliance with MACS, VRQA and legislative requirements
* Overseeing daily organisation, staffing, supervision, and timetabling
* Coordinating replacement staffing and supervision rosters
* Leading and supporting Professional Learning Teams (PLTs)
* Managing agendas and minutes for Leadership Meetings
* Assisting with policy development, school events, excursions, and emergency procedures
* Assuming the role of Principal when required
Student Wellbeing & Behaviour
* Leading the implementation of our SEL curriculum
* Supporting staff with behaviour management, restorative practices, and incident recordingWorking with families around wellbeing concerns
* Supporting NCCD processes and student needs
Community & Pastoral Care
* Promoting positive, respectful relationships across the school
* Supporting families in times of grief, challenge, and celebration
* Attending assemblies, liturgical celebrations, and community events
* Establishing a Student Representative Council
Teaching & Learning
* Demonstrating strong curriculum knowledge and effective pedagogical practice
* Supporting explicit instruction, daily review, feedback cycles and high expectations
* Observing teaching practice and engaging in reciprocal peer review
* Reviewing academic reports and supporting data-informed improvement
About You
Essential Qualifications
* A Master's degree in a relevant field
* Current VIT registration
* Teaching qualifications
* Religious Education Accreditation to teach in a Catholic school
Knowledge & Skills
* Deep understanding of Catholic education and the mission of the Church
* Strong knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum
* Understanding of the science of learning and explicit instruction
* Familiarity with NCCD processes
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
