About The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced MC Driver (Float & Platform) to join the team in a full time capacity. In this role you'll be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of large freight using a well-maintained Volvo Automatic Truck, with a Drake 6x8 Steerable low-loader platform trailer, with as required a 2x8 extension.
This role requires a driver with strong previous experience in float and platform operations, (preferrable Drake) demonstrating expertise in loading, unloading, and securing various types of freight.
Key Responsibilities
* Safely and efficiently operate an MC licensed Volvo truck and Drake platform trailer.
* Transport general freight from Perth to regional WA, including regular trips to our mining operations in the Pilbara.
* Demonstrate proficiency in loading, unloading, and securing large and varied freight on a platform trailer.
* Possess practical experience with float operations for loading and unloading machinery or oversized items.
* Complete pre-start checks and report any vehicle maintenance issues promptly.
* Adhere to all relevant traffic laws and company policies.
* Maintain accurate logbooks and paperwork.
Essential Requirements:
* Current and valid Australian MC driver's license.
* Demonstrable experience operating platform trailers and securing various types of freight.
* Proven experience with float operations (loading/unloading).
* Prior experience with Drake trailers are highly desirable.
* Current Drivers Medical
* Current Fatigue Management Certificate
* A strong commitment to safety and compliance.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
* Reliable and punctual.
