About The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our JORN team in Edinburgh Parks, South Australia.
Reporting to the Software Product Project Engineering Manager, you will join a team of Software Engineers in building the next‑generation Operations Centre for the world’s most capable Over the Horizon Radar.
Responsibilities
- Write and maintain high‑performance software in C++ and CUDA (or equivalent).
- Collaborate with the Defence customer, leveraging our industry‑leading relationship.
- Participate in the full development lifecycle, including integration and testing.
- Contribute to software design and development, with potential to extend into algorithm development and software architecture.
- Implement parallel and GPU‑accelerated solutions and participate in peer‑to‑peer coaching.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a similar degree.
- Experience in parallel computing using GPUs (highly desirable).
- Experience writing CUDA (or equivalent) software (highly desirable).
- Experience in High‑Performance Computing (HPC; desirable).
- Experience in C++ development (desirable).
- Defence security clearance or eligibility for NV1 clearance.
- Eligibility for International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR) clearance.

Clearances
Given that a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and either possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearances. International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable; nationality may be a factor in determining suitability.
