Our client is seeking a veryexperienced Data Engineer to develop and deliver advanced Analytics use cases for their Data Lakehouse platform. The role requires a good understanding of Retail, Property and Ground Transport operations and business processes, combined with technical expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks and real-time intelligence solutions.
The successful candidate will deliver high quality data assets while effectively communicating and negotiating with key stakeholders. The role is in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, with a potential to engage in a hybrid capacity and is initially a 6-month contract engagement, but likely to have multiple extensions for the right candidate.

* At least 5+ year's relevant local working experience as a Data Engineer.
Key responsibilities:
* Design and implementation of innovative use cases on the organisation's Data Lakehouse platform,
* Develop data solutions that support critical transport operations and drive commercial outcomes across parking, car rentals, rideshare, duty free, hotels, retail streams and more,
* Design real-time intelligence solutions for mission-critical landside and revenue-generating operations (capacity management, revenue optimisation, etc.),
* Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to executives and senior leadership,
* Build strong relationships with operational teams, IT leadership, and business unit heads,
* Build scalable architectures that integrate operational, financial, ecommerce, and real-time data streams,
* Drive adoption of data capabilities across various non-aeronautical business units.
The successful candidate will have:
* Microsoft Fabric certification and Azure Data Engineer certifications.
* Highly proficient with Databricks, SQL and Python.
* Experience working with commercial, ecommerce or transport-related data systems (e.g. parking platforms, POS systems, booking engines, transport management systems).
* Knowledge of commercial performance metrics and KPIs (revenue per transaction, yield, occupancy, conversion, etc.).
* Experience with machine learning and AI implementation in commercial or operational environments is desirable.
* Understanding of/experience withaviation industry compliance and regulatory requirements is highly desirable.
