We are looking for a driven and experienced Senior Planner to join our growing team. This is a genuine opportunity to take ownership of projects, build lasting client relationships, and play a meaningful role in shaping our business.
In this role, you will independently manage a portfolio of mid-sized development applications, planning proposals and statutory matters, serve as the primary client contact, and contribute to the mentoring and development of junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
* Independently manage and deliver mid-sized DAs, planning proposals and statutory planning matters from inception to completion
* Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring a high standard of service
* Prepare high-quality planning reports, correspondence, submissions and advice
* Identify and proactively manage project risks, budgets and timelines
* Mentor and support junior planners, providing technical guidance and professional development
* Liaise directly with councils, government agencies and other stakeholders
* Contribute to fee proposals and business development activities
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and manage consultant inputs
About You
You are an experienced planner who is ready to step into a role with greater autonomy and client responsibility. You take pride in the quality of your work, communicate clearly and proactively, and have the drive to grow into a more senior leadership position over time.
You will bring:
* 4–6+ years' experience in urban or town planning, across statutory and/or strategic planning
* Strong working knowledge of the NSW planning system, including the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979
* Experience in other Australian states or territories is welcome
* Proven ability to independently manage projects and client relationships
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and compelling planning documents
* A collaborative approach and genuine interest in developing junior team members
* A degree in Planning or a related discipline
