About the Role
Intertek Minerals is offering an exciting Graduate Chemist opportunity as part of our Graduate Program based at our Global Centre of Excellence in Perth.
This program is designed to give science graduates a unique and comprehensive start to their careers, with hands-on experience across multiple departments, exposure to mine site laboratories, and opportunities to contribute to research and development projects.
This role is perfect for graduates looking to develop their expertise in analytical chemistry while working with an international leader in quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in daily safety, team, and production meetings.
Prepare and analyse samples safely and accurately using various laboratory techniques.
Undertake rotations across multiple departments, completing training checklists to build competency.
Perform sample preparation, weighing, digestion, and analytical testing using industry-standard methods.
Maintain accurate records in Excel and Intertek's Laboratory Information Management System (MINLIMS).
Support research projects and present findings through written reports.
Contribute to laboratory quality systems and provide technical support within your scope.
Adhere to all safety standards, PPE requirements, and contribute to a clean, hazard-free workplace.
About You
Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) – completed or close to completion.
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Knowledge of laboratory procedures and standards.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Previous experience in a minerals-focused laboratory.
Exposure to instrumentation such as XRF, ICP, AAS, DTR, or UV-Vis spectrometers.
Experience working on remote sites or continuous rosters.
