About the roleAs a Support Worker at Able Disability Support Services, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals living with disabilities to live an independent and fulfilling life. In this casual position, you will provide essential support and assistance to our clients in the Newcastle, Medowie, Raymond Terrace, Maitland and surrounding areas, helping them to achieve their personal goals and participate actively in their local community.What you'll be doingAssisting clients with their daily living activities, meal preparation, and domestic housekeepingAccompanying clients to appointments, social events, and community activities to promote their involvement and independenceProviding emotional support and companionship to clients, while encouraging their participation in meaningful activitiesDocumenting client progress and reporting any changes in their wellbeing to the wider support teamAdhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety protocols to ensure the highest standards of care and supportTravel to Raymond Terrace, Medowie and Newcastle areas for supportsWhat we're looking forPrevious experience in a support worker or similar role, preferably within the disability or aged care sectorsA genuine passion for supporting individuals with diverse needs and a commitment to promoting their independence and quality of lifeStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and empathise with clientsA flexible and adaptable approach, able to respond to the unique needs and preferences of each clientMature minded and reliability is a mustRelevant qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent, are highly desirableA current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle are essentialWhat we offerAt Able Disability Support Services, we are dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive work environment where our employees can thrive.
