Macquarie University's Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences is seeking a dynamic and visionary Lecturer to design, develop and help deliver the new Bachelor of Health Sciences major in Digital Health. This is a rare and exciting opportunity within a faculty that is ambitiously pushing the boundaries. You will be embedded within Macquarie University's state-of-the-art health precinct, surrounded by expert academics, researchers, and clinicians, with access to cutting-edge resources and unmatched expertise.

If you are passionate about curriculum innovation, digital transformation in healthcare, and shaping the next generation of health professionals, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

You will take the lead in designing the subjects within the Digital Health Major. You will craft a curriculum that is innovative, industry-relevant, and driven by proven, student-centred educational approaches. Your key responsibilities will include:

* Provide academic leadership in the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of the Major in Digital Health.
* Ensure alignment between unit learning outcomes, teaching activities and assessments within the Major and across the Bachelor of Health Sciences program; contribute to quality assurance and accreditation processes relevant to the Major; and advise on resourcing and improvements to support effective delivery and a positive student experience.
* Design and write unit outlines, learning outcomes, assessments, and teaching materials that reflect contemporary best practice in health sciences and specifically digital health education.
* Monitor academic quality and student progression, identifying and supporting students at risk in collaboration with the relevant Course Director.
* Engage with students, staff, and industry partners to enhance the relevance, quality, and reputation of the Major.
* Engage and contribute to a program of research on digital health.

About Us

Macquarie University's Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences builds on our aspiration to have the nation's first fully integrated Academic Health Sciences Centre under the University's leadership. It brings together the work of clinicians and researchers across the University and around the country, with unparalleled access to world-leading clinical resources and research facilities found on campus. Our faculty hosts the Australian Institute of Health Innovation (AIHI), an internationally acclaimed powerhouse researching health systems, digital health, artificial intelligence and patient safety.

The Bachelor of Health Sciences is an innovative and versatile new degree that equips students with foundational health knowledge and specialist skills through interdisciplinary Majors. The Digital Health is one of four Majors and will prepare graduates to improve healthcare delivery and outcomes through technology, addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing the health system today. This role will be based with the Australian Institute of Health Innovation, providing a rich opportunity for the candidate to undertake a digital health research program.
