Role
Electronics Technician – full time, permanent – based at Garden Island.
Responsibilities
* Perform comprehensive maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of vessel electronic systems.
* Supervise and mentor junior technicians and contractors during installation, commissioning, and testing.
* Provide technical leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary teams, resolving complex issues.
* Generate clear technical documentation, including maintenance reports, test procedures and troubleshooting guides.
* Oversee minor projects from planning to completion, managing technical direction, resource estimation, scheduling and progress reporting.
* Conduct system alignment checks and defect investigations during sea acceptance trials.
* Foster a customer‐focused environment, prioritizing efficient service to internal stakeholders and external clients.
* Collaborate closely with Technical Services and Project Control teams to support project workflows and issue resolution.
* Assist other teams as required per direction from Technical Services Manager.
Qualifications
* Certification or diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
* Advanced Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering is highly regarded.
* Extensive training and hands‐on experience in fault diagnosis, repair and maintenance of electronic equipment in a related technical environment.
* Ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a team.
* Strong capacity to learn quickly and apply new information and concepts.
* Positive and adaptable attitude, willing to embrace change.
