Details: Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) is seeking enthusiastic and experienced person to fill a permanent part-time position in the Simulated Learning Environment (SLE) across all programs delivered in CIT Human Services. The Department of Human Services delivers a range of programs, these include the Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability), Certificate III in Health Service Assistance (Acute) (AIN) and the Diploma in Nursing. This position will suit someone who is self-motivated, a team player, and has the ability to demonstrate high quality customer service.
The successful candidate will be working under the direct supervision of a Technical Officer and be required to: Assist in the delivery of a wide range of skills in the SLEs including:
* Prepare equipment for classes, pack down and replace or replenish consumables after classes.
* Plan the availability of necessary equipment for practical classes.
* Maintain equipment used for training in safe working conditions.
* Replace or report damaged items as necessary.
* Ensure all Standard Operating procedures (SOP) relating to equipment in SLEs are up to date.
* Assist with student enquiries, undertake administration duties that relate to SLEs and other duties as directed by Head of Department.
* Undertake regular monitoring of the SLEs, including general cleaning and tidying.
* Utilise lab booking systems, files, databases in the day to day running of SLEs.
* Participate in stocktake by locating and identifying consumables and equipment.
* Perform tasks associated with recycling of consumables; for example, identify and select items that can be recycled and follow guidelines for repackaging and relabelling items.
* Maintain safe working conditions within the work environment.
This position does not involve direct supervision of staff. It requires flexible hours to cover the requirements of running the SLEs for Human Services department.

Eligibility/Other requirements:
* All CIT and ACTPS employees are required to complete a National Police Check form prior to employment.
* Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Working with vulnerable people (WWVP) registration )
DESIRABLE
* Current Driver's Licence
* Current Senior First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
* Knowledge of educational programs in CIT Human Services Department
* Experience in a vocational education setting
* Well attested time management/organisational skills would be an advantage
* A Diploma/Associate Diploma or equivalent in a health-related discipline/field would be an advantage
Notes: This position is part-time at (14:70) hours per week and the full-time salary noted above will be pro-rata. The successful applicant will be required to work part-time hours across two days per week.
