**Key responsibilities**: - Contribute to whole of region reviews and responses to complex development projects and regional planning matters including: o Major development projects. o Priority Development Area development schemes through Economic Development Queensland (EDQ). o Key planning and infrastructure plans including regional plans, planning schemes, ministerial designations, structure plans and master plans and similar. Project manage transport planning projects undertaken by the Region, requiring a working knowledge of transport analysis methodologies. Manage timely, reasonable and relevant planning outcomes by providing advice and developing complex briefs to senior management on the risks and benefits of proposed options. Provide strategic land use planning advice on matters to deliver integrated land use and transport outcomes in the Region. Please see attached role description for full list of responsibilities.Mandatory qualifications and conditions: - Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role. Desirable: Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or similar qualification with detailed knowledge of the Planning Act 2016, Economic Development Act 2012, Transport Infrastructure Act 1994 and strategic land use planning processes and policies in Queensland. A degree in Civil Engineering with Post Graduate.
qualification in Transport Planning will also be highly regarded.
