Job Description:
The role of the Inspector-General of Biosecurity is to provide independent oversight of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry's biosecurity functions.
This includes reviewing the performance of departmental officials and the exercise of statutory powers under the Biosecurity Act 2015.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting an annual review program and undertaking independent evaluations of the appropriateness and effectiveness of risk management programs across the entire biosecurity continuum.
This is a part-time statutory appointment with a term of up to five years, commencing late October 2025.
