In this people leadership role, you’ll lead NGM Group’s community partnership and engagement portfolio for both Greater Bank and Newcastle Permanent retail brands and will be responsible for community engagement activities, our sponsorship portfolio, and associated operations, to support brand perception, consideration, reputation, and business outcomes while offering meaningful impact and connections for our customers and communities.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of activation, sponsorship and community engagement strategies across NGM Group’s retail brands, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and our community and sustainability goals.
- Continuously assess and optimise sponsorships and partnerships to maximise strategic value, community impact, and commercial benefits.
- Oversee the successful delivery of sponsorship commitments—including contract management, budgeting, branding, signage and promotional assets—ensuring compliance with WHS and brand standards.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the sponsorship and community engagement program, including recent contract implementation and maintenance of relevant procedures and guidelines.
- Collaborate with communications and marketing teams to develop compelling content and materials that support community initiatives, including speeches, presentations, media, advertising and digital assets.
- Represent NGM Group at key events across NSW and QLD, strengthening visibility and community presence (some after-hours and weekend work required).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, stakeholders and internal teams, ensuring effective communication and seamless program delivery.
- Leverage community partnerships and volunteer opportunities to enhance employee engagement and support customer acquisition, retention, and business growth.
- Provide strategic advice to senior leaders, offering insights to inform decision-making on community engagement priorities.
- Track, analyse and report on the impact of partnerships and community engagement activities, using data and partner reporting to measure effectiveness and guide continuous improvement.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team by setting clear expectations, providing coaching and feedback, and fostering a collaborative, engaged culture.
- Build internal networks across divisions to strengthen collaboration and embed community engagement practices that drive competitive advantage.
What we’re looking for
- Tertiary qualification in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field.
- Proven experience in managing teams, projects, and initiatives, including coordination of small and large-scale events.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams, inspiring high performance, and guiding others through change.
- Extensive experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating partnership and stakeholder engagement strategies.
- Extensive experience in commercial sponsorship, activation, and event management.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in crafting content across traditional and digital channels. Proven ability to collaborate with agencies and strategic partners.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and work collaboratively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Critical, creative, and lateral thinking for problem-solving and solution development; excellent project management and marketing skills. Flexible and adaptable in dynamic environments.
- Strong skills in contract negotiation and management.
Please note, due to the nature of this role, we require someone who is willing and able to occasionally work outside of standard business hours, including weekends.
